Cellulaze in La Jolla, CA
Shumway Cosmetic Surgery, accredited by the Joint Commission and awarded the Gold Seal of Approval which reflects our commitment to excellence and quality patient care, offers Cellulaze™ to local residents requiring cosmetic surgery.
Cellulite – the word alone makes you cringe in horror. The sun, surf, and sand lifestyle of San Diego and La Jolla, however, means that your cellulite may just be the first thing that people notice about you. Cellulite is a particularly difficult problem to manage, however, because the rippled appearance is actually caused by fat sticking through stiff connective tissue and cellulite is something that you cannot fix with diet and exercise.
What Is Cellulaze™?
CelluLaze™ is an advanced laser treatment that is specially designed to get to the root of your cellulite – the underlying structures that cause the problem. By treating the fibrous bands in the deep layers of your skin and causing them to soften, CelluLaze™ makes your cellulite a thing of the past.
Am I a Candidate?
CelluLaze™ is not a weight loss solution, and it will not remove excess fat like SmartLipo® Triplex™. When you meet with Dr. Shumway, he will determine if you have cellulite and if so, he may recommend CelluLaze™ as an appropriate way to address the problem.
Why Choose Dr. Shumway?
Shumway Cosmetic Surgery is dedicated to aesthetic enhancement for our patients. We specialize in laser and cosmetic surgical procedures. Our office is conveniently located in sunny Southern California in the La Jolla area of San Diego.
Dr. Robert A. Shumway, MD, FACS is an expert in the field of cosmetic surgery. He has studied at the nation’s most prestigious medical centers and has taught at Duke, UCLA, and UCSD. As a trustee of the California Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, Dr. Shumway stresses the importance of close post-operative care, carefully instructing his patients on how to expedite their own healing and recovery.
What Happens During CelluLaze™?
Local anesthesia is all that is needed for your CelluLaze™ treatment, and the entire procedure takes one to two hours. Small incisions are made in the treatment area, and a special device is inserted into the areas of fat. Laser energy is applied to the fat, causing it to melt; the system also works to improve your skin’s elasticity.
How Fast Will I Heal?
Rest is recommended for a day or two after your treatment. You may have some mild bruising and discomfort, and you may notice fluid leaking from the incision sites. After a couple of days, you can return to your normal activities, but you should avoid strenuous exercise for one or two weeks.
How Will I Look?
With CelluLaze™, you notice immediate results, and full results typically take between three to twelve months.
